About The Dive
We dove with Blue Wave Divers and they were fantastic. Great staff, good rental gear, nice big comfy boat with shade and a ladder for re-entry. Tuffy Canyon is a nice relaxing dive. There was no real current or surge. We cruised through the finger coral formations. We saw a nurse shark, lobsters, and some small schools of fish.
I was using 16lbs for this dive which was new for me as I usually use more. I had to very intentionally exhale to go down but was able to do so without issue. It felt great during the dive to be less weighted. At the safety stop I was able to hold the position but I felt like I had to really pay attention to my breathing to do so.
